This conceptual design was developed for the potential renovation of an abandoned train station in Oakland, CA. Using the dimensional framework of the original design, three towers with automated archive retrieval systems were designed as an addition to the standing structure. These towers allowed the user to experience the size of the original space, while allowing for the archive’s storage needs. When brought through the roof of the building, these towers would be seen easily from several local thoroughfares, thus creating a new landmark.
