Heritage Salvage located right off the 101 in Petaluma, CA is a great spot to find all types of reclaimed wood. – Heritage Salvage Website

From their website – “One hundred percent of Heritage Salvage’s wood products are sourced from windfalls or existing structures: chicken shacks, barns, houses, tanks and other structures that were either in danger, abandoned or no longer being used. 75% of Heritage Salvage wood is old growth redwood. . . By reclaiming wood and building materials from barns and structures that would otherwise be unrecognized as reusable sources and repurposing the wood into beautiful new products, HS contributes to saving space in landfills, preserving trees, and our natural heritage.”

You can get an idea of what Heritage Salvage has in their yard by visiting their website. However, it’s definitely worth a trip to go look at all the treasures they have amassed, even if you’re not building anything at the moment.

I highly recommend using reclaimed material for your next building project. Not only is it a sustainable option, but you get a better quality of wood. Equally as important, your project will have a story, a sense of comfort and belonging that is unmatched with new material.
