Book Recomendations pt. 1
Every so often I will write a post about books that I enjoy and recommend. Here are the first two books!
“The Graphic Guide to Frame Construction” is an incredibly useful resource for anyone designing or building a wood frame building. Pretty much everything you need to know is explained and diagrammed in a very simple straight forward manner. I purchased this book to learn about about frame construction before I started my first architecture job. Than at the last firm I worked at they used this book to teach the interns about typical light wood-frame construction methods. I recommend this book to anyone interested in building even if you aren’t doing the construction yourself.

One of the best series of house designs are the Usonian houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The book “Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian Houses: Designs for Moderate Cost One-Family Homes” does a great job covering these houses. The book shows the diversity of this work and does a wonderful job explaining the ideas behind these homes. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in house design.
